My 1st Quarter Experience


 We all know that there is a huge difference between the face-to-face classes and the new normal set-up of schooling which is.modular and online. Modular learning challenged me to be independent and productive everytime. 


This TLE subject, I have learned many discoveries. I have gained the knowledge to trace the history of the Internet, identify the people behind the development of the internet, categorize the pioneers on the development of the internet through their genre, identify the internet services and tools, define Web Browser and Web Server, classify the types of data found on the internet, identify Weblogs/Blogs, compare the different type of blogs, explain the portfolio of metrics used in evaluating a blog post, apply the steps on how to create a web Log/Blog.


Although the lessons were by some means easy, I faced the most hurdles with the essays. I admit that I have no talent for writing. I do not know the root of this problem but I am not good at expressing my ideas in a well-thought-out manner. But somehow along the way, I successfully finish these tasks, however, I am not that confident with how my essays resulted to. 


I know, We all know that this pandemic is a big fear to all of us, even the next quarter will not be a face to face class i know that we are all in this together.

Water bodies, natural and built environment, and related sociological systems such as policy and governance, have experienced significant impact from the economic slowdown resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. While human health and life are our primary and immediate concerns to address, water and environmental systems from local to regional scales have seen discernible positive impacts due to the reduction of pollutant loading from industries, vehicle emission, and other sources. Anecdotal evidence indicates reduction in biochemical oxygen demand and coliform levels in rivers, improvement in air quality as a result of reduction in the loading of nitrous oxide, particulate matter, and other pollutants. The extent of recovery seen would not have been possible without extreme measures that have been forced on the society due to the pandemic, at the cost of several trillions of dollars across the globe. This enormous unintended experiment offers opportunities for unprecedented insights about the dynamics of our natural and built environment, and societal systems that can lead to feasible paths for preservation of recovered systems and new recovery pathways through sensible policies and practices.


The goal of the special collection is to develop insights into the link between human activities and impact on water and associated ecological, environmental, and built and sociological human systems, both during the recovery of the natural systems during the pandemic and possible subsequent degradation pathways as economic activities pickup up, including assessment of niche habitats that may provide long residence times for the virus and/or adverse impacts on ecosystems.. The rapid transient response presents an opportunity to capture the behavior of large, degraded, vulnerable but societally valuable systems both during the recovery and/or subsequent degradation, develop insights leading to hypothesis, theories, and predictive models, documented through compelling case studies and supporting data sets. Both direct and indirect impacts are possible. Direct impacts include water quality improvements owing to reduced industrial effluents while indirect impacts include changes in urban climate or land-atmosphere interactions owing to reduction in atmospheric pollution. Opportunities for assessing the cause and consequences of existing policies and practices, and development of alternate effective policies to preserve the recovered systems or guide systems for recovery, mitigate adverse impacts or enhance resilience are also possible.

We Can Save Lives


 The Philippines frequently experiences seismic and volcanic tremors because it lies along the Pacific Ring of Fire, which is an area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where a large number of earthquakes occur. In recent months, for example, a number of earthquakes shook parts of the country. While there were no reported major damage or loss of life, these incidents could indicate that the big one is probably coming, as the major Philippine fault lines have been disturbed. 


For us in academe, it is best to be prepared and ready for all eventualities, because no one can predict when earthquakes will happen.  Schools cannot be closed in advance due to earthquakes; neither can we suspend classes, like we do when there’s a storm warning. However, with proper training and advance planning, everyone in our school community can be prepared to react appropriately during and after the occurrence of an earthquake.


The best approach is to create a comprehensive, all-hazards emergency plan and implement earthquake drills so we can instill in the minds of our students the correct procedures to be followed during the actual occurrence. All these will help ensure that there will be no confusion or panic among students and faculty members.


Likewise, planning of specific ways on how our school community will respond to an earthquake will help us identify key resources that must be prepared or procured in advance. Proper execution of school drills will also help prevent panic, which might lead to accidents when everyone is overwhelmed with fear.
